Hi, I'm Yifat Shirben

Imagine finding a passion that turns every note into a healing touch and every silence into a moment of growth. That's what sound healing did for me.

After more than a decade in the fast-paced world of business and marketing, I stumbled upon a melody that changed my course: the healing power of sounds.

What started as taking the time for myself and learning something new, quickly became my new sanctuary.

As I delved deeper, earning my certification and immersing myself in the practice, I discovered the profound impact sound can have on our well-being, both mentally and physically.

Now, I'm here to share this journey with you.

Do you have any question?

Yifat Shirben, the event's host and Sound journey owner
  • What is a Sound Bath anyway?
A sound bath is a group meditative experience where participants are "bathed" in sound waves. These waves are typically produced by various instruments, including singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and voice. The goal is to induce relaxation and allow participants to enter a state of deep meditation.
  • Do I need any experience in meditation or yoga to participate in a sound bath?
No, you don't need any prior experience in meditation or yoga. That's the beauty of it. Sound baths suit everyone, regardless of their meditation background or experience. The facilitator will guide you through the process.
  • What should I bring to a sound bath session?
It's recommended to bring a yoga mat, a blanket, a pillow, and anything else you might need to feel comfortable lying on the floor for an extended period. You want to focus as little as possible on your physical body, so bring along any props that can eliminate discomfort.
  • What should I wear for a Sound Bath?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You'll be lying down for the duration of the sound bath, so it's important to be comfortable and relaxed.
  • How long does a sound bath last?
A typical sound bath session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. However, the duration can vary depending on the facilitator and the type of session and we will make sure to note that on the event promotion.
  • Is sound bath safe for everyone?
Sound baths are generally safe for everyone. However, if you're pregnant, have a sound-sensitive condition, or have a serious mental health condition, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional before participating.
  • Can children participate in sound baths?
Yes, children can participate in a sound bath, but it's important to consider whether they can remain still and quiet for the duration of the session. Please check with us beforehand, as some sessions may be more suitable for adults.
  • What can i expect to feel during a sound bath?
Participants often report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during and after a sound bath. Some may enter a meditative state or experience vivid imagery, colors, or emotional release. The experience can vary greatly from person to person. I recommend just giving it a go... :)
  • How often should I attend a sound bath?
There's no set frequency for attending sound baths. Some people attend weekly, while others may go monthly or just occasionally. Listen to your body and mind, and attend as often as feels right for you.
  • Can I do a sound bath at home?
Yes, you can do a sound bath at home using sound recordings or by learning to play instruments commonly used in sound baths, such as singing bowls or gongs. However, the experience might differ from a live session due to the presence and skill of a live practitioner and the energy of a group setting. You can also group with friends and family and invite me to play in your favourite setting.
  • Are there any side effects or things to be aware of after a sound bath?
Most people feel relaxed and at ease after a sound bath. However, it's possible to feel a bit disoriented or emotional, as the sound frequencies can stir up subconscious thoughts or feelings. It's important to give yourself time to transition back to your routine and drink plenty of water.
  • What is a 1-on-1 Private Sound Healing Session?
A 1-on-1 private sound healing session is a personalised experience where I tailor the session specifically to your individual needs, focusing on your personal wellness goals. It involves the use of sound and vibrations, through instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks, to promote healing, relaxation, and balance within the body and mind.
  • How is a 1-on-1 Session Different from Group Sessions?
Personalisation: Private sessions are customised to address your specific concerns and intentions, offering a more targeted approach to healing. On-Body Instrument Application: In private sessions, there's the unique option to have instruments like singing bowls placed directly on the body. This method allows the vibrations and frequencies to penetrate more deeply into the tissues, offering a more intense and direct healing experience. This technique is especially beneficial for targeting specific areas of pain, tension or imbalance. Depth of Experience: With my undivided attention, you can dive deeper into your personal healing journey, potentially experiencing more profound shifts. Flexibility: Scheduling and session structure are more flexible, allowing for adjustments based on your immediate needs and preferences. Privacy: A private setting provides a confidential space to explore and heal, which can be particularly beneficial for those working through sensitive or personal issues.
  • What Can I Expect During a Session?
During a session, you'll typically lie down or sit comfortably while I play various instruments, creating a therapeutic landscape of sound. You may experience physical sensations, emotions, or a deep state of relaxation. I may also incorporate guided meditation or breathing exercises tailored to your needs.
  • Are There Any Side Effects?
Most people find sound healing to be a very safe and positive experience. However, as with any therapeutic practice, individuals may react differently. Some may experience emotional release, including tears or laughter, while others might feel very relaxed or even sleepy. On rare occasions, individuals might experience a temporary increase in discomfort as their body adjusts and begins to heal (a detox effect), which can take up to 72 hours.
  • What Should I Do After a Session?
I will provide you with more specific recommendations after your first session, but as a general rule of thumb: Keep hydrated: Drinking water can help facilitate the detoxification process. Take it easy: Allow yourself time to rest and integrate the experience, especially if you feel particularly relaxed or introspective. Journal: Writing about your experience can provide insights into your healing journey and emotional state.
  • How Often Should I Have 1-on-1 Sessions?
The frequency of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some may benefit from weekly sessions, especially during periods of significant stress or transition, while others may find monthly sessions sufficient for maintenance and well-being.
  • Can Sound Healing Replace Medical Treatment?
No, sound healing should not be used as a replacement for conventional medical treatment. It is a complementary therapy that can support overall well-being and can be used alongside other treatments. Always consult with a healthcare professional for medical advice and treatment.
  • Can Sound Healing Induce Hypnosis, and Will I Remain in Control?
Sound healing is deeply relaxing and can induce states of deep meditation or altered consciousness that are similar to hypnosis. However, it is not hypnotic in the traditional sense, where you lose control over your actions or awareness. Throughout the session, you remain in full control of yourself and can choose to engage or disengage with the process at any point.
  • What Benefits Can Sound Healing Offer?
Sound healing can provide a multitude of benefits that extend to both emotional and physical well-being. On the emotional side, it can help reduce stress, enhance sleep quality, facilitate emotional release, and promote a deeper sense of peace and well-being. Physically, participants may experience relief from chronic pain, improvements in digestion, a reduction in muscle tension, and an overall enhanced state of physical relaxation. It's also known to support the body's natural healing processes, potentially leading to better immune system function. While sound healing has been reported to aid in these areas, it's important to maintain realistic expectations. The effects can vary greatly from person to person, and it should be seen as a complement to traditional medical treatments, not a replacement.
  • Is Sound Healing Covered by Private Health Insurance?
Unfortunately, sound healing is not typically covered by private health insurance. It is considered a complementary or alternative therapy, and most insurance plans do not currently recognise this specific modality as a reimbursable expense. However, it's always a good idea to check with your specific insurer, as coverage options and policies can vary.
  • Are There Any Health Conditions I Should Inform You About Before a Session?
For your safety and to tailor the sound healing session to your specific needs, please inform me if you are pregnant, have a history of cancer, experience chronic mental health issues, use a pacemaker, or have recently undergone surgery. While these conditions do not necessarily prevent you from receiving sound healing, they do require adjustments to the session's approach, such as avoiding direct placement of instruments on the body. This information helps ensure that your experience is both safe and beneficial.
  • What Types of Events Can You Customize?
I specialise in creating personalised sound healing events tailored to a variety of occasions, including corporate wellness days, private gatherings, celebrations, and retreats. Each event is uniquely designed to meet the specific desires and wellness goals of my clients.
  • How is Each Event Customized?
The customisation process begins with a detailed consultation to understand your vision and objectives. I then tailor the event's theme, duration, and sound healing practices to align with your goals, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for all participants.
  • How Many Participants Can You Accommodate?
I can cater to a wide range of group sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger corporate events. Please contact me with your specific needs, and we will work together to accommodate your group.
  • How Far in Advance Should I Book a Bespoke Event?
We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to secure your preferred date and allow ample time for planning and customisation. A minimum of 4-6 weeks in advance is ideal, but don't hesitate to reach out if you have a shorter timeframe.
  • Can You Host Events at Any Location?
I'm flexible with locations and can host events at a variety of venues, including corporate offices, private homes, outdoor spaces, and retreat centres. I'll work with you to select a suitable location that enhances the event's atmosphere and meets your needs.
